One Alarm Not to Disarm!

Your smoke alarms!

Don’t ignore that annoying beeping of a dying battery. Don’t take the battery out. And don’t disassemble the alarm altogether. Whether it is replacing the battery, fixing the alarm or getting a new one, just do what it takes to get it working again. It’s usually an easy fix!

Now that the safety portion of this blog is done, here’s my thoughts on the showing portion……

A beeping alarm is distracting when your home is being shown. If your home is vacant make sure you check in on it periodically. Second, non-working smoke alarms will come up in an inspection report. And lastly, taking them down altogether will make people wonder what that cover plate is supposed to be (e.g. – see picture below).

Do it right and you’ll be showing well and sleeping tight!
